This dress is our miniature rendition inspired by a piece from Christian Dior/John Galliano's Spring 2007 Haute Couture runway collection

The fabric that is used to craft and fully line this gown is Ivory colored Thai silk, which is a very sturdy and smooth fabric that gives the gown a nice and thick jacket-like feel. This gown's unique raised collar is achieved by several carefully placed pin-tucks that allows the fabric to hold its shape. This detail is also repeated in the bodice. The wave motif that is hand embroidered on the dress is inspired by the famous painting by Katsuhika Hokusai ('The Great Wave'), Japan's famous woodblock print artist. Several hundreds of Japanese seed beads ranging from clear, white, to gradations of blue were used to complete this design. Closing by metal hooks, the gown's kimono-like bell sleeves add another oriental touch to this modern silhouette.
